Projects and Initiatives

The Teen Center, currently under development in the lower level of the Armory, is an exciting new project aimed at providing a dynamic and safe space for local youth. Set to open before summer break 2025, the center will feature comfortable seating, recreational activities, and areas for socializing and studying. With the team working diligently to complete the space, it will soon serve as a vibrant hub where teens can gather, relax, and engage in fun, creative, and educational activities.

Community Youth Garden

We are in the process of designing a collection of raised garden beds that will be available at the back of the property to be used by youth in city limits who want to be a part of 4H or learn about agriculture. This project is a collaborative effort with various youth organizations in the community such as FFA, Scouts, the Auglaize County Health Department, and 4H.

The Mental and Behavioral Health Survey for Auglaize County aims to assess the mental health and substance use needs of our rural community. By gathering insights from residents, we can identify gaps in services, understand prevalent issues, and enhance local mental health resources.

Memorial Gala

We look forward to hosting a Memorial Day Gala where all proceeds will be used to help offset the costs of memorial services for veterans in our community. Veteran families will be able to apply for financial assistance to receive these funds through forms that will be available at our local funeral homes.

Veteran Memorial Service

This project aims to provide free mental health and case management services to local Veterans in Auglaize and Mercer county to ensure they are able to receive the support, resources, and connection needed to heal, thrive, and navigate life beyond service. We will be working with local VSOs to determine potential clients. Those without insurance will be given priority. We anticipate the start of these services to begin in January of 2025.

The Armory Restoration Project

This project focuses on the meticulous restoration of the armory building, which has served as a vital community hub since its construction in the early 20th century. Objectives of this project include updating plumbing and electrical within the building, repairing the roof and ceiling, as well as adding heating and air conditioning.
